10 Most Controversial Adverts You Will Never Forget

1. Pakistani designer Aamna Aqeel has spawned the latest race-related controversy in fashion through her ‘Be My Slave’ photo shoot. In a spread for Diva magazine featuring clothing by the designer, a model poses in haute couture style while a nearly naked brown boy attends to her every need.

2. Supermodel Lara Stone in a controversial shoot for the Vogue Paris featuring Major Model agency's Travis Hanson and Doug Porter, shot by celebrity and fashion photographer Steven Klein. Many fashion critics considered it was vulgar and violent.

3. Beautiful and creditworthy Vogue Italia August 2010 issue published a series of photographs inspired by BP Oil spill. The photographs were very creative but destroying many thousands of dollars Luxury items for the sake of fashion and creating awareness did not go very well with many readers.

4. This is probably Armanis most publicized and talked about fashion spread modeled by David Beckham (in some photos his wife also sneaked in ) . We wonder why ?

5. This piece of advertisements by D&G caused some stir as some saw it as sexual violence against an woman by a group of men

6. Toothless Nana with her grandchildren who live in a slum , now that might be just a common scene anywhere in India, but with this fashion spread Vogue India created quite a controversy as many art and fashion critics saw this was nothing but exploitation of poor people. 100 dollars fendi bib , $ 300 pullover and shoes which would cost more than those people can earn in a year was not probably the best way to sell fashion, but Vogue India continued to increase their subscription, so it did work for them.

7Dakota Fanning sitting with a vase-shaped bottle of Oh Lola! scent resting between her thighs by Marc Jacob when she was 17. Obviously Marc wanted Dakota to look like a child but many people thought that was really creepy.

8. This was the controversial breast cancer awareness ad in Singapore. Some people thought it was vulgar .

9. Tom Ford is very good with pushing the boundary, he never shy away when it comes to shock the public. In the following ad he just did that. It was described as overtly sexy and provocative.

10. Nothing sells clothes like naked models, make that naked men. A&F is notorious for using topless men in many of their advertising campaigns and catalogs. Over in Singapore where its first outlet was just opened late last year, an eye-catching billboard of a topless man with jeans slung dangerously way down low was deemed too risqué and thus, had to be removed. This was before it was due to be opened. (source -www.venusbuzz.com)
